Social Supermarket
Centre 63’s Social Supermarket has been operating since July 2020. We have become well established – feeding over 150 plus families a week.
We are supporting our users long term through the devastation and financial pressures which were and are still impacting on them today as a direct result of Covid19.
This service has helped reduce the number of people using Food banks. It also offers support and promotes a balanced diet offering a variety of healthy food choices.
Our footfall has increased over the past month with the residents of Kirkby benefiting from a weekly shop for under £10.
The Social Supermarket currently operates with three volunteers who deliver this much needed resource. This service is invaluable to the Community of Kirkby and our volunteers have increased their knowledge skills, self-esteem and overall confidence.
We also receive weekly donations of free food from Marks & Spencer and Greggs, through the Neighbourly partnership.
Open every Wednesday
