Remake Yourself Hub

Our ‘Remake yourself hub’ supports young people (YP) aged 18-30 through a unique and holistic project that will combine work readiness, confidence, machinist, upholstery and manufacturing workshops in tandem with personal and business development skills to increase the aspirations of young people. We specifically target young people who are experiencing difficulty accessing mainstream services, and have been economically inactive for 12 months or more. ‘Remake’ arm of the project delivers 8 hours of ‘Upholstery’ skills that young people can put into practice the skills they have learnt during engagement with the project. and ‘Personal Development’ programme will combine a real working environment and include practical/tailored support in preparing for and sustaining employment.

This will involve
  • Sewing
  • Upcycling & Upholstery Workshops
  • Assembling and repairing furniture
  • Machinist techniques
  • Restoration of furniture
  • Refurbishing unwanted furniture
The Yourself’ arm of the project will provide x 4 hours per week of employability skills for YP including Personal Development Training and cover topics It will also deliver x 4 hours of Personal Development training and cover topics such as interview preparation, presentation skills, confidence skills, teamwork and self-image.
